The Umbilini Village is a time capsule & sacred space for creative self expression & innovation. It will resemble an African village built with natural materials, powered by solar power and follow be a zero waste, 100% natural, eco-friendly and organic community.

The village aims to create workshop spaces for emerging artists to develop their skills, network, and create. It also aims to forster diversity, equality, and inclusion for differently abled adults and children.

Our vision is to create a space that allows all to return to nature while they learn the ancient arts in such as barkcloth making, pottery making, weaving, bee keeping, organic farming and more. The village will include innovation labs and workshop spaces for upcycling to create new ways to reduce, recycle and reuse waste. The labs will develop eco-friendly, biodegradable and sustainable products from natural materials and waste.

The organic farm will grow all the materials needed such as fruit trees, vegetables and herbs to create our own wellness products and natural skin care line. We will promote and teach holistic living, balance with nature and wellness within and without.

Our goal is to create jobs for the growing number of unemployed artisans around Uganda and to generate an income from everything we grow, make and jocular. We will create a ripple and use that income to organise classes and workshops to train the youth and pass down the ancient knowledge and wisdom.

Umbilini is dedicated to preserving the ancient arts and working with the youth, women, the elderly, street children, families living in the slums and disabled people. We strive to empower and support these individuals to learn new skills and use their gifts and talents to transform their lives and their communities. We believe by teaching the ancient arts to the youth we are passing down priceless & timeless knowledge and wisdom.

Our organisation raises funds and donates 10% of our profits from classes/workshops and events to organise arts and crafts classes for children with Autism & Downs Syndrome at the Dorna Center for Autism & children living in the Naguru Slum. We are currently working on a programme to reintroduce pottery making to younger women and inspire girls around Uganda to master pottery making.

Help us raise £30,000 to build a village that will honour the ancient knowledge and wisdom and create an impact for generations.
