In October, the air at Nilotika Cultural Hub pulsed with something ancient and beautifully alive.
Elders, youth, and artists gathered beneath the rhythm of Uganda’s drums, each beat stitching generations together.
Wax met cloth in the Batik Making Workshop, where hands learned tracing stories through color and fabric.
In the Storytelling Circle, voices carried wisdom across time, reminding us that heritage is not history.
The History of the Drum called us to listen deeply, to remember that rhythm has always been our language of unity.
And when the Drum Circle began, there were no strangers. Only one heartbeat, shared.
It was more than a gathering. It was a remembering of who we are, and what we carry.
As we look toward 2026, Umbilini is inspired to host more intergenerational gatherings. Spaces where tradition, creativity, and community meet.
Because when we come together, art becomes ancestry, and rhythm becomes renewal.
