The Art for All was created by Umbilini in 2018 and is currently running a 6 week programme & exhibition on 13th Dec for 31 artists with autism & special educational needs at Dorna Center for Autism.
Umbilini began offering arts and crafts workshops in Uganda in 2018. The vision for Umbilini is rooted in my long-standing commitment to inclusive creative education for all.
My journey began in 2006 as a volunteer art teacher at The school for the deaf, Ntinda. I taught a class of 15 deaf children and witnessed the transformative power of art in helping children communicate, connect, and grow.
Inspired by those early experiences, I began collaborating with local artists and artisans to run arts and crafts classes for children with special needs and those living in the slums around Kampala.
For 7 years we have been able to run the free classes in Kampala with the funds from our private events and public workshops.
Today, Art for All stands as a living vision: bringing creativity, confidence, and connection to children who are often left unseen and unheard.
Umbilini is now raising awareness and funds to ensure the Art is for All. With your support we will continue to thrive in 2026 & beyond and reach even more children through the healing language of art.
